i might seem stupid but i let my best friend borrow my ipod for an hour or 5th hour in davison middle school and she told me that she would give it back but never did so u could say im stupid go ahead

In case of iPod Touch and password of gmail being auto saved in, if that person use it on net, your gmail will be updated on iPod Touch and this IP address will appear at the bottom of your gmail with access type as IMAP.

Other way to trek your iPod is to install anti theft trekker next time when u buy one.

I don’t see any other way. Apple doesn’t trek them.

My iPod was stolen on 21th Feb 2011. My gmail password was saved in.
Whenever I used to switch-on my wi fi router, it automatically updated gmail account on iPod.

Having said this, thief sold it to third person and he accesses net on iPod touch and unknowingly he updated my gmail and fortunately I noticed unusual activity in my gmail but it was one day old and hence no precise timing. I gave IP address to cyber cell of Delhi Police.
It was dynamic IP address and in order to track address, exact timing was needed. Police wrote to Gmail and got the exact timings.

I gave these timings along with IP address to friend of mine who is high rank police official and he got me address within 2 hrs.
Same day in the evening we got this guy who lead police to thief.
I got my iPod and other valuable back.
