Think Before You Give A Membership To A Beer-Of-The-Month Club

Most people get depressed during the holidays. Not me.

My buddy thought it would be a great idea to give me a membership to a Case Of Beer A Month Club for Christmas. Yes, it was fabulous and I was never so happy to see the UPS driver. Each month a case would arrive and inside there be some funky new porter from Montana or a pale ale from Oregon. There was a white ale from the Midwest and a Texas lager. No matter what it was, I was always happy to drink it. What made it especially heartwarming was the quaint write-up about the brewery, and how the brewery was started, and how the beer was made, and how the brewmaster invested his kids college fund in the beer making equipment, and how they had a flood and had to rebuild (probably with the grandkids college fund).

Well the problem is that the cheap bastard only gave me three months of the Case of Beer Every Month Club and it just ran out.

Now I have nothing to look forward to. No new Beer of the Month. No case of happiness showing up. My self-esteem is shot and I can barely work. My girlfriend is disaffected. I’ve hit rock bottom.

Most people get depressed during the holidays. Not me. I get depressed three months after the holidays. Somebody send me some beer money. Or mail me a case. Or tell that cheap bastard friend of mine to pony up for the rest of the year. I can kick this depression with your help. You can do something.  At least leave a comment.  Maybe that friend of mine will read this and realize what he’s done.  Don’t postpone it. Do it now.
