This week’s Icon Battle is between two of my personal favorite free apps for Mac OS X, Cyberduck and TextWrangler.
I use Cyberduck daily and highly recommend it for all of your FTP needs. It’s free, well documented and easy to get along with. The icon is my children’s favorite. Every time they see it in the dock, they want to “play that game”.
TextWrangler is another one of my favorite apps that I use daily. Again, totally free and super easy to get along with. TextWrangler works well with Cyberduck as one of Cyberduck’s supported text editors. If you don’t like the cowboy styled icon, get used to it. TextWrangler hijacks every text file on your Mac and associates the icon with a .txt file.

We thought Handbrake might run away with last week’s Icon Battle against RsyncX and that’s exactly what happened. Handbrake whooped up on RsyncX in last week’s worst icon in Icon Battle with 72% of the votes. We’re retiring Handbrake for a little while. It is so over poweringly bad that we need to hang on and wait for a fair fight.
