Which icon is worse?
|
So many things happened last week, Earth day seemed to come and go without much ado. Shocking really in the aftermath of the success of “An Incovenient Truth”.
It’s great that Google and Yahoo! acknowledge Earth Day with a logo change. One of readers tried to get Google to participate in our Orange and Maroon Web Effect to show support for the Virginia Tech victims, families and students. Sorry we couldn’t convince them to it this year, but we are already organizing for next year.
You are voting for the worst icon of the two. A note about the Yahoo! icon, unfortunately, I’ve only be en able to post a .gif of the lightbulb image that was running, however, there was an image that ran that was animated and had a windmill spinning that was really superior to the Yahoo! one posted. If anyone has a screenshot or link, let me know and we will try to incorporate that as well.
The two icons are very interesting approaches to the event. Yahoo! seems to depict a much more positive message as opposed to Google’s sinking iceberg. What do you think? Cast your vote for the worst icon.
I almost forgot about the last icon battle between Vista and OS X. Understandably, our posting got off track last week so the battle ran for two weeks instead of one. Vista beat OS X as the worst icon in a very close race (by icon battle standards) with 56% of the vote.
