I was disappointed to read that the ipf5000 has been put on the “Not Recommended” list by the people over at the canonipf5000 wiki. It appears as if the main problems with the ipf5000 is not so much failures in the machine, but failures in Canon’s service. Granted, this isn’t the ipf8000, but it is unfortunate. Hopefully these issues will be resolved and not bleed over to Canon’s bigger lines. I expect better from this company.
If you read my post on Merck’s Gardasil Vaccine, you know I am all for the vaccine, but questioned the price. Recently the Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia said he would sign a bill mandating hpv vaccine for girls entering the sixth grade. Interestingly, Merck is investing money in Gardasil production in Virginia. Governor Kaine’s Official website has the “Merck will invest $57 Million” press release. I’m not a conspiracy theorist and I don’t believe that simply because Virginia is getting jobs from this move that Kaine was somehow bought by Merck. If you think differently, I challenge you to find somebody who has ever had genital or cervical warts, and ask them about it. They’ll probably tell you they wish somebody had vaccinated them in the sixth grade.
