All files for the Shifter skins are located in the /skins/ folder of your Shifter install. Unfortunately, editing a theme with the Wordpress theme editor under /Presentation/Theme Editor/ won't pick up the files that are further down the line. You can edit the skin on your own in a text editor and upload it via ftp. For the bird skin, look for /shifter/skins/bird/bird.css and edit there.

Thanks Tommy for the info. The other question I needed an answer to was this: Where do I find the url that I need in order to replace the bird header with one of my own. In using the theme editor, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Is in the Stylesheet, Header, Main Page Template or another file? Of course, I could be blind and just not able to see it, but so far I haven't been able to locate it.

Thanks again for taking the time answer my queries.

The header height on the bird skin is 200px. The width is a different story. Because Shifter can be used so many different ways, the width depends on what body size you choose for your Shifter settings.

One of the most incredible features of Shifter is the perfect zoom capabilities. Increase the zoom of any web page (mac '⌘ +', pc 'ctrl +') and watch how quickly the page degrades. Not with Shifter. Shifter scales perfectly. To maitain scaling with the header image, images that are faded somewhat from side to side work well. Fading a header image like the bird skin can add a fantastic effect to your website. It really makes things stand out.

We will release a few tutorials in the future about mastering this technique. The bottom line is that a header image that is 200px high and longer than your page width will work wonderfully. If you use an image longer than the the actual page width, your page look will still scale correctly and not degrade when a visitor zooms.

Thanks so much for this updated theme. This is exactly what I was looking for. A simple, fast-loading theme with two sidebars. One quick question though . . . I would like to use the bird style sheet, but would also like to change the header pic. Could you tell me what the picture dimensions are and where I can find the place to switch out the picture with one of my own? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks again. Great work!!!
